Two time Texas Senate candidate, and friend of the show, Sema Hernandez joins us to discuss the reality of ballot access and viable alternatives to the one party system. Spoiler alert: I sound like a crazy person. Ms. Hernandez has run for the Texas Democratic nomination for the Senate in 2018 and 2020. In 2018, she garnered nearly 300,000 votes on a budget of $4,000 against Robert “Beto” Francis O’Rourke. His budget was over $4 million, barely doubling the votes Hernandez received. The 2020 race was an even bigger corporate grease fire as the DNC rounded up 11 candidates to crowd the field before confused voters settled on MJ Hegar. She went on to lose to Ted Cruz. Good Times…
